There is no place for violence against children in the 21st century. Yet it continues to destroy lives. Violence against children is everywhere. It happens in all countries, at all levels of society. Despite its global prevalence, violence against children all too often remains invisible because it’s hidden behind closed doors or because people turn a blind eye to it. But violence against children is entirely preventable when people come together and say that it is not acceptable.

In the light of this and the horrific incidents of violence against children over the last year which have hit the headlines, UNICEF is launching the #ENDviolence initiative, to raise awareness and put a spotlight on local efforts of UNICEF offices and partners.

It is time to join forces and build a global movement against violence.
