As a member of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs, I participated in the drafting of new legislation against child pornography.
I managed, among other things, to introduce the term “child sex tourism” into a directive, which makes EU member states responsible for prosecuting citizens who have committed abuse of children abroad.
At the same time, the term “grooming” was introduced, which means that contacting children online in order to later commit abuse is now seen as a serious crime throughout the EU.
